Named 1967 American Legion Graduate of the Year, Yaz was an 18-time for the Red Sox and was a first-ballot Hall of Famer. In 1967, he earned the Triple Crown and Most Valuable Player award, along with one of his seven Gold Gloves. He finished his career with 3,419 hits and 452 home runs. He played Legion ball in New York.
A member of the 3,000-hit club, Yount was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. The three-time All-Star and two-time American League Most Valuable Player helped guide the Brewers to an appearance in the World Series in 1982.
