Alomar, Roberto

A 12-time All-Star, Alomar was known for his defense, winning 10 Gold Gloves. The two-time World Series champion had a career .300 average and stole 474 bases. He played Legion Baseball in Puerto Rico

Anderson, Allan

Former Minnesota Twins pitcher Allan Anderson played Legion Baseball from 1981-1982 for coach Al Beavers with Post 11 in Lancaster, Ohio. He pitched for the Twins from 1986-1991, posting the American League's lowest ERA (2.45) in 1988.

Anderson, George "Sparky"

Played American Legion Baseball for Post 715. His team won the 1951 American Legion Baseball World Series, which was played in Briggs Stadium (Tiger Stadium). Says great moment was winning The American Legion World Series.

Anderson, Sparky

A winner of the American Legion World Series as a player for Los Angeles Crenshaw Post 715 in 1951, Anderson reached the Majors as a player but was known for his managerial career, where he finished with a record of 2,194-1,834 (.545 winning percentage). He won three World Series titles (1975-76, 1984) and two AL Manager of the Year titles. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000

Ashburn, Richie

A 1995 Hall of Fame inductee, Ashburn was a beloved member of the Philies from 1948-59, earning six All-Star appearances and two batting titles. He played American Legion ball in Tilden, Neb.
